Weird Web October 2026

Giving Weird Web October a spin this year! We shall see how many days I complete.

01 - Reveal

Today's theme is "reveal", so I'm unscrambling the pixels of an image using a slider. The all the pixels of the image start in a random spot then move along a bezier curve to their proper position. I then "smear" the pixels around to fill any empty spaces. You can click on the image to use one of your own.

02 - Spark

Spark immediately made me think of sparklers- draw on the canvas to make your own sparklers and watch them burn!

03 - Fake

For this one, I wanted to do crappy forgeries of images. Underneath the hood I'm computing something like a HOG of the image data- using an x-and-y edge detection and using that to find the angle and strength of an edge at every point. I then "paint" the image using curved strokes rougly placed at a location using its color, where stronger gradient makes a longer more opaque stroke and weaker is a shorter, fatter stroke. Like previous days, you can click to swap for your own image.

06 - Analog

Listen: it's 31 days of weird web, they're not all gonna be winners. I did hand-code the SVG though because I am a sicko, so that's kinda analog.
